On Tuesday, September 15, the Boston Celtics introduced both Paul George and Mike Conley to the media. Mitchell Robinson was originally scheduled to attend the news conference but was absent for personal reasons. Nevertheless, Celtics fans got their first glimpse of the two veteran additions this summer and, with it, some answers about what to expect in the coming season.
Neither George nor Conley has won a championship during their NBA tenures. Both are arriving in Boston following Joe Mazzulla's team being eliminated in the opening round of the 2026 postseason. However, there was a quiet confidence among the two new additions as they looked toward playing in a city where every season is viewed as championship-or-bust.
Following the news conference,
NBC Sports Boston's Chris Forsberg and Abby Chin discussed some of their takeaways from what George and Conley had to say. The media duo noted that they focused on the clear sense of urgency from both George and Conley as they pushed for a championship before the curtain comes down on their impressive careers.
Shortly after that discussion, the video provides even more detail by cutting to one-on-one interviews with Forsberg, Conley, and George, giving Celtics fans a closer look at each player and their goals for the upcoming season.
