While they might not have been the closest of friends while big man Mitchell Robinson was playing for the New York Knicks, the new Celtics center has come around to appreciate coach Joe Mazzulla since signing with Boston this summer. The Western Kentucky alum shared his thoughts about his new head coach in a recent interviewwith 98.5 The Sports Hub.
"What you see is what you get," said Robinson of the Celtics coach's bedside manner now that he has a closer perspective on it.
"The way you see how he is on TV, in interviews is just (how he is). He's just blunt. He's just straightforward; he doesn't beat around the bush."
"And after talking to him (…), he came down to Nashville came to visit me," said Robinson.
"He did apologize for doing the hack-a-Mitch
stuff, which I'm like 'Okay, you know what, you're my guy. But I can't wait to see how much I get to know him as a coach, as a person, as the season goes on."
