Could the Boston Celtics actually end up extending vet forward Paul George? The focal point on the court of the trade of star forward Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers, PG-13 was widely seen as having one of the worst contracts in the NBA before the deal that sent him to the Celtics.
But the Fresno State alum is not seen in that light because he can't play the game at a high level anymore, as Boston fans watching the 2026 NBA Playoffs know all too well. Rather, it was the tendency of George to miss a large chunk of many of the last several seasons he's played, a well-timed suspension perhaps helping him make the postseason in good health this summer. Might Boston elect to extend the veteran forward at a team-friendly deal?
