Luka Garza has a lot of competition to get on the court with the Boston Celtics, but from where he sits, that does not seem to be a problem. In fact, the Washington, DC native sees that big man depth as a boon to Boston's fortunes in the coming 2026-27 NBA regular season, as he related after the first training camp practice of the year.
"We all bring different things to the table, and we're going to do those things when called upon," said the Celtics center (viaCLNS Media) of himself, Neemias Queta, Amari Williams, and Chris Cenac Jr. "And I think throughout the year. It's just going to be about us having that connection as a group, that it's a mindset, it's a pride that we have to anchor the paint and do the best we can to control the rim, protect
the rim and control the glass."
There was another addition to the Celtics' frontcourt that Garza is excited about in particular – former New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson.
"I love his game," said the Iowa alum. "He's one of those guys that you hate going against, just how good he is on the glass."
"You've got to box him out every single time, and obviously he's huge, so it makes it tough. But he's relentless, so it's good to have him on this side for sure."
