Veteran forward Paul George has hardly had a chance to get his bearings with the Boston Celtics, yet the former Philadelphia 76ers star is already having an impact on his new ball club. Backup forward Jordan Walsh in particular had plenty to say about his new teammate after the first training camp practice of the 2026-27 NBA regular season. "I think that as soon as I saw him come here and get traded here, I immediately tried to reach out and try to get a workout in," said Walsh viaCLNS Media.
"So we did; we worked out a couple of times, (and) a couple more times here," added Walsh. "He's taught me some things."
"He's put some things in my bag that I think are going to come in handy in moments this season that hopefully we'll be able to show everybody,"
he continued. And as for the elephant in Auerbach Center that day – the absence of Jaylen Brown, dealt to the Sixers for George – Walsh was diplomatic.
"Honestly, I don't know what it's going to look like basketball-wise," said the Arkansas alum. "But I know as a person, JB is a really good guy, and I know that PG is also a really good guy who likes to mentor and likes to help the younger guys. And we'll find out what it looks like to play in a game with him, but as a person, he fits in, he's a good dude."
"Obviously, we miss JB. He was a great guy, one of my closest friends on the team. We'll see how it goes for us this season, but he came here to work, and he's come with a great attitude and a good mentality."
