The sole title of the Ubuntu-era Boston Celtics nearly did not happen, with the Celtics needing one of the best games of Hall of Fame Boston small forward Paul Pierce to put away a rising Cleveland Cavaliers ball club helmed by a baby LeBron James. The two clashed in epic fashion in one of the greatest games every played in an NBA postseason, and perhaps the best ever played before the finals.
We are of course talking about Boston and Cleveland's epic duel in Game 7 of the 2008 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals, the toughest barrier between the Celtics and Banner 17 before they collided with the Kobe Bryant-led Los Angeles Lakers in the finals.
