Boston Celtics big man Neemias Queta has seen his profile rise with his success with the Celtics commensurately, his newfound status as one of the better bigs in the NBA making it harder for the Utah State alum to go unnoticed. "It's been challenging, I'd say," said Queta in a recent interview
with CLNS Media. "It's a part of being seven foot (tall), so you can't really lay low when you're seven feet."Still, that notoriety does not seem to bother the Portuguese center much. "It's a part of the job," he explained. "I'm starting to become more and more comfortable." Queta has not grown his game by neglecting, instead having kept busy this summer with the Portuguese National Team and his youth basketball camp in Europe, as well as prepping for the season
ahead in Boston. And above all else, consistency has been key to the Lisbon native. "I think it sounds cliché, but consistency is so key in this league," said Queta. "I feel like the guys that stand out are the ones that are able to be on the court consistently."
"And having the trust of their teammates and coaches that they'll be over there doing doing the same stuff over and over again, that's what I really want to be counted upon to do," he added.
"I think that's going to be one of the next steps for us as a group to have a great regular season," suggested the Celtics center. "We had certain moments in the (2026) playoffs that (we) were up (vs. the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round) 3-1. Unfortunately, we didn't get the job done."
"But I think that word, consistency, is going to be key for us this season and we can we can actually be really good if we're consistent on the on the day-to-day stuff on being able to being able to capitalize on other teams mistakes, and I think I think our future is really great."
