The Boston Celtics can extend point guard Payton Pritchard as of this week. But the question is whether the storied franchise will actually do so given they would still have another season and then some to get an extension done with the University of Oregon alum.
What sort of salary will Pritchard command if he were to hit free agency at the end of his current contract? What sort of deal might he be okay with taking from Boston given this is likely his last big payday in his NBA career? And how much might the Celtics be open to paying the Oregon native considering that they have some serious cap crunch issues in their future in the wake of the league's punitive collective bargaining agreement (CBA)?
The hosts of the "How Bout Them Celtics!" podcast,
Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, took a deep dive into how the extension situation might go with Pritchard. Check it out below!
