By hook or by crook, the Minnesota Vikings found a way to win again on Sunday, beating the Indianapolis Colts by a final score of 16-10. Another stellar defensive performance elevated offensive woes en route to Minnesota's sixth straight win to begin the year. After Sunday's game, where do the Vikings land in Bleacher Report's power rankings?
Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report listed the power rankings this week, and Minnesota came in at number two. They gained one spot from their Week 7 ranking, which had them at number three:
The contributions feel far too lopsided to go all-in with the league's only undefeated squad. The 6-0 start is impressive, but Minnesota's offensive limitations raise questions about its sustainability.
Minnesota's defense
deserves all of the credit it gets. Flores is only getting more aggressive with his play-calling, too. In fact, the unit blitzed the Indianapolis Colts' Daniel Jones on 85 percent of his dropbacks Sunday, which was the most by an NFL team over the last 20 seasons.
Meanwhile, Kyler Murray has yet to throw for 250 yards this season. Plus, the Vikings' running back room took another hit. Just when Jordan Mason returned, Aaron Jones Sr. left Sunday's game with an injury.
This philosophy of the defense will go out and win the game is not sustainable. The offense will need to start to show consistency and big-play threat in order to be taken seriously. They'll get that shot to prove it on Sunday, as they take on the Detroit Lions in a divisional road matchup.
