The Minnesota Vikings moved to 3-0 on the year yesterday, defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-16. The defense did its part, but the offense continues to struggle to get up to speed. Minnesota ranks last in the NFL in total offense, totaling just 238.3 yards through three games. However, if you ask Kevin O'Connell, he still believes that this offense is coming.
While speaking to the media following yesterday's win, O'Connell expressed his belief in his offense and that the best is yet to come:
"I do believe (it's) coming. I do believe that, with the work we're putting in. We just gotta keep working, keep chasing the execution, 11 guys doing their job, us figuring out exactly what we are offensively and how we want to attack people."
The ankle
injury suffered by Justin Jefferson put a damper on this offense, as they struggled to sustain drives once the focus moved to Jordan Addison. If they can get him back healthy soon, this offense should find some signs of life, but the question now stands: how much better will they get?
