Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray has been slowly getting better as the weeks have gone on. Over the last two weeks, Murray has completed 76.5% of his passes for 476 yards and just one touchdown, but no interceptions. Given his recent performances, where does CBS Sports rank Murray heading into week seven?
Garrett Podell of CBS Sports placed Murray 21st in the NFL, just ahead of Tyler Huntley and just behind Sam Darnold:
The Minnesota Vikings are 5-0 coming out of their Week 6 bye, but that has more to do with Brian Flores' defense than Kyler Murray and the offense. Minnesota has the fewest touchdowns (nine) in a 5-0 start since the 2003 Carolina Panthers, per CBS Sports Research. The good news is Murray's yards per pass attempt and passer
rating have improved with each game he's played this season. (+1)
21st in the NFL feels a little low, given that Murray is below guys like Geno Smith, Michael Penix Jr., and Jayden Daniels. However, national media rankings mean nothing when it comes time to break the huddle and break down the defense on third and goal.
We will have our next chance to see the Vikings in action on Sunday, as they take on the Indianapolis Colts.
