Last year, Eric Wilson stepped up into a starting role on the Vikings' defense and never looked back. He has become a top piece in a defense loaded with talent, and Brian Flores discussed it on Tuesday.
Flores explained his importance by saying, "Yeah, I mean, E-Wil (Eric Wilson) has been tremendous for lack of a better term. He's smart, he's physical, he's unselfish, he's a very good blitzer, he's good in pass coverage, he plays multiple positions, And so, you know, he means a lot to our defense."

His value to the defense goes beyond what he simply does that shows up in the box score. His positional
versatility also helps out others on the defense, as Flores went on to explain.
"His versatility, you know, allows us to give other guys, you know, a break. You know, he goes in for Gink (Andrew Van Ginkel), he goes in to play Will, he plays some Mic. . ."
The Vikings have thoroughly enjoyed the former Packer since he took over his starting role last season.
