The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Vikings still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 8 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft in a class that many are saying could be one of generational wealth.
CBS Sports' Josh Edwards recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going with a new defensive addition in Alabama edge rusher Yhonzae Pierre. In this scenario, the Vikings would be stacking up Alabama edge rushers as he joins Dallas Turner, who has worked out well.
Edwards explains the Pierre pick, writing, "Minnesota traded Jonathan
Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel is 31 years old. The Vikings get younger and build depth at edge rusher. Former Crimson Tide pass rusher Dallas Turner can show Yhonzae Pierre the ropes."
The Vikings showcased their pass rush in Week 1, but having a deep rotation of players who can achieve that is vital. Andrew Van Ginkel is a looming free agent, but even if he returns, they need more pieces. Pierre would be a really fun piece opposite Turner off the edge.
