Second-half adjustments played a pivotal role in the Minnesota Vikings
' come-from-behind victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Minnesota fought back from a 12-point third-quarter deficit to win 39-22, scoring 29 unanswered points. The Vikings' defense spearheaded the win and will need to be in their A+ game on Sunday as they travel to Chicago to face the Bears. These three defensive keys will help lead them to a win:Key #1: Spy Caleb Williams on every play
Caleb Williams did whatever he wanted to the Carolina Panthers' defense last week, throwing for 269 yards and rushing for another 65, including a pair of rushing touchdowns. His escapability and the magic he can create outside the pocket can derail a game, and Minnesota is going to need to run at least one spy and potentially
a double spy to contain Williams on Sunday.
Key #2: Keep the pressure
Brian Flores blitzed Jordan Love on 78.3% of his dropbacks, and the pressure got to him in the second half. This defense was buzzing against Green Bay, and this kind of pressure, paired with a spy, can cause chaos for Williams and Chicago's offensive line. Flores will create a mastermind game plan, but will they execute it to limit this offense?
Key #3: Pay close attention to Colston Loveland
All offseason, the debate over who would become Chicago's top weapon was between Luther Burden III and Colston Loveland. Well, if Loveland doesn't get a single target on Sunday, that could prove it's Burden. However, conventional wisdom would tell you they are going to scheme up looks for Loveland on the opening drive and pepper targets all game, something Minnesota can't allow to connect.
