Dallas Turner is poised for a breakout season for the Vikings. After the trade of Jonathan Greenard to the Eagles this offseason, the young pass rusher is going to take over Greenard's role as the other half of the Vikings' aggressive defense to come off the edge.
While they have Turner ready to step up, they lack depth behind him. Despite that lack of depth, things got worse when news broke of an injury on Sunday afternoon.
Vikings edge rusher Tyler Batty suffered a torn ACL in the team's preseason finale against the Denver Broncos on Friday and will be placed on injured reserve. Netflix's Tom Pelissero was the first to report the news of his injury.
The Vikings will need to address the depth they now lack at pass rusher before Week 1. The waiver
wire may be their only option, or making a player change positions.
