The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Vikings still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 8 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup about the team, and who they may add through the draft in a class many are calling one of generational wealth.
The Athletic's Nick Baumgardner recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going with a new quarterback. He has them going with the hottest name at the position: Trinidad Chambliss.
Baumgardner explains the pick, writing, "The biggest problem with J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota’s last QB draft pick, was maturity. There will be none of those concerns with Chambliss,
a seasoned 24-year-old who is a little reminiscent of Bo Nix. If you put talent around Chambliss, he’ll surprise people."
Chambliss would be a really fun piece for the Vikings as they look to give this offense a spark long-term. The Heisman contender has shown in 2026 he can do that in the SEC, but will it translate to the NFL?
