The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Vikings still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 8 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup about the team, and who they may add through the draft in a class many are calling one of generational wealth.
AtoZ Sports recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going with LSU tight end Trey'Dez Green. Some consider the dynamic pass catcher the top tight end prospect, or at least in the top tier, with Oregon's Jamari Johnson joining him.
They explain the pick, writing, "Green’s size immediately creates matchup problems. At nearly 6-foot-7, he gives quarterbacks an
enormous target who can win above the rim while possessing enough athleticism to threaten defenses vertically. His development as a blocker will be important, but his receiving ability could make him a valuable piece of an NFL passing game."
T.J. Hockenson has shown flashes in 2026, but he is lacking in his playmaking compared to years past. Adding someone with fresh legs and athleticism like Green would be a welcome sight to the offense.
