The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Vikings still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 8 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft in a class that many are saying could be one of generational wealth.
CBS Sports' Mike Renner recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle. Within that mock draft, Renner projects the Vikings to make an addition to their offensive line. He is projecting them to select Iowa offensive lineman Kade Pieper.
He explains the pick, writing, "Pieper is the kind of athletic center who can be a weapon in an offense. His ability to get
out on the move and make plays in space is as good as it gets at the position. He's what the Vikings were hoping for when they drafted Garrett Bradbury."
Pieper is a steamroller of an offensive lineman and could be a really fun piece wedged between Donovan Jackson and Will Fries. Both guards are playing extremely well through three weeks, so adding Pieper to the middle could allow this offensive line to create a new ceiling for themselves.
