The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Vikings still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 7 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup about the team, and who they may add through the draft in a class many are calling one of generational wealth.
PFF's Gordon McGuiness recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going with a new linebacker. They land Notre Dame linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, who would be placed next to Carson Schwesinger.
McGuiness explains the pick, writing, "I’m not sure there’s a fit I love more in this mock draft than putting Viliamu-Asa in a Brian Flores defense. He has missed
just 7.7% of his attempted tackles, earned a 91.2 PFF run-defense grade and proven to be an effective blitzer, generating eight pressures on 18 pass-rushing snaps so far this season."
Viliamu-Asa has become a key player for the Fighting Irish defense and could become the same for the Browns. Schwesinger has been forced to do a lot in 2026, and taking some off his plate isn't a bad idea.
