Justin Jefferson continues to make history. On Sunday, he continued his ascent up the Minnesota Vikings' record book with his first catch of the day.

With his 30-yard reception on the second play from scrimmage, Jefferson caught his 588th career reception, passing Randy Moss for the second-most in Vikings history. Jefferson caught two more passes that day, finishing with three catches for 55 yards in a rainy game at Soldier Field.

But Jefferson's first reception put Minnesota in Bears territory, setting up a field goal that put the Vikings up 3-0. Points were at a premium as Minnesota won 9-3.

He still has a long way to go to become

the team's all-time receptions leader. Cris Carter holds the team record with 1,004 career catches over his 12-year tenure as a Viking.

Still, Jefferson is on a solid pace, having passed Moss two games into his seventh season. His next milestone in the record books will be receiving yards, as he currently trails Moss for second by 689.
