Leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings were to be looking for help at safety and running back early, according to all the mock drafts. Minnesota would surprise everyone by going with defensive tackle Caleb Banks early and addressing those two positions later on. As the 2027 NFL mock drafts start coming out, one position is being mocked heavily once again.
Pro Football Network has released its newest mock draft, and they have the Vikings drafting Florida running back Jadan Baugh. Here was the breakdown on Baugh and why he'd be a good fit in Minnesota:
The Minnesota Vikings could be heading toward a long-term commitment with Kyler Murray, and pairing him with a true bell-cow back would give Kevin O’Connell’s offense the balance
it needs to keep defenses honest. Jadan Baugh is the top running back on PFN’s big board with an 87.4 prospect grade, ranking seventh overall, and he has the size and skill set to carry a heavy workload at the next level.
Baugh has rushed for 672 yards and 12 touchdowns through six games, earning an 88.4 PFN RB Impact Score while shouldering more than 60% of Florida’s carries. At 6-foot-1 and 228 pounds, he runs with surprisingly light feet for his size, and his vision, power after contact, and value as a receiver out of the backfield make him a complete back who can make an immediate impact in Minnesota.
Baugh has taken the College Football world by storm this season, taking over the RB1 spot through the middle of October. This is a very talented running back class, but Minnesota can leave with the best one in the group if this mock draft rings true.
