Two weeks of fairly good quarterback play washed down the drain on Sunday, as Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray struggled mightily against a subpar Indianapolis Colts defense. Minnesota would win that game 16-10, but the defense and run game helped lift Murray's poor performance. How did he grade out, according to Bleacher Report?
Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report
handed out the grades this week and gave Murray a C:Minnesota mustered 275 yards offense Sunday and finished four of 13 on third and fourth downs. Kyler Murray has yet to throw for 250 yards this season. The quarterback's biggest contributions often come when he can break outside of structure and keep a drive alive thanks to his athleticism.
Eventually, an opponent will crack
the Brian Flores code and move the ball on the Vikings. The Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers offenses are next on the docket, which means Murray and Co. must do more than they have over since the quarterback returned from a Week 1 concussion.
A "C" grade feels a bit generous given how erratic and inconsistent Murray was on Sunday. The Colts aren't known for being world-beaters on defense, especially when they had injuries to that side of the ball going into that game.
Murray and Co. will have their next shot to turn things around this Sunday as they travel to Detroit to take on the Lions.
