The Minnesota Vikings are making a quarterback change, but not due to poor play.
Speaking to the media ahead of Week 9 preparations, head coach Kevin O'Connell said Carson Wentz will start for the team against the Buffalo Bills. Kyler Murray will miss the game due to his hamstring injury and is considered "week-to-week," per O'Connell.
This will mark the eighth career game for Carson Wentz starting on Monday Night Football. He currently has a record of 4-3 in those games, and this will be his first start on Monday Night Football since 2021, when he was with the Indianapolis Colts.
Wentz has started for the Vikings in 2026 already. He won that start and has 276 passing yards and three touchdowns after appearing in two games this season.
