The Minnesota Vikings' defense was already considered among the best in the NFL at several areas. One that has been hit or miss for them in recent years has been the linebacker position. Late Tuesday, the position group got a shot in the arm from a face familiar to defensive coordinator Brian Flores.
Netflix's Tom Pelissero reported late on Tuesday night that the Vikings were signing veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy. The deal terms were not initially disclosed when the move was announced.

Van Noy, 35, was drafted in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. He most notably played for the New England Patriots where he won two Super Bowls with then Patriots defensive coordinator Brian Flores. He has also spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers, and most recently the Baltimore Ravens.
Van Noy brings a unique skill set that can provide coverage and rush the passer off the edge. He will be a fun chess piece in the Vikings' defense as they look to add depth at a position they are relying heavily on in 2026.
