The Minnesota Vikings will have another quarterback change when they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3.
Kyler Murray, who was injured in the Vikings' third offensive series of their season-opener against the Green Bay Packers, cleared the concussion protocol on Monday and is set to return to the starting lineup, Kevin O'Connell announced.
In his absence, Carson Wentz completed 23/39 passes for 276 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. It wasn't spectacular, but Wentz helped Minnesota's offense avoid disaster, aiding a defense that has led them to a 2-0 start.
Murray's limited action in Week 1 leaves plenty of questions as he re-enters the lineup. He completed only 3/5 passes for 18 yards, including an interception on his first
attempt, which was also the Vikings' lone turnover through two games. Murray ran twice for nine yards, including a two-yard scramble that caused a concussion.
Can he help jump-start an offense that ranks last in total yards through two games? And can he do so while avoiding back-breaking turnovers that set opposing teams up with short fields? These questions mirror those that followed Murray into the season.
Now that Minnesota is 2-0, can he take them to another level? Or will Murray revert back to the issues that plagued him against the Packers?
