What is the story about?

As we get started in November, we are now complete with Week 8. The Vikings remain atop the NFC North, but they have lost their undefeated record after a road loss to the Detroit Lions. After such a performance, we wanted to look at what others thought of their work in Week 8 on the road.

As always, with the season going on and on, we took a look at power rankings heading into Week 9. CBS Sports' Pete Prisco released the latest rankings. He ranked the Vikings 6th following their road loss to the Lions we mentioned earlier.

The rest of the NFC North shaped up as follows:

Chicago Bears 4th
Detroit Lions 9th
Green Bay Packers 12th

The Vikings have a chance to perhaps claim the top spot if they can defeat the team that currently occupies it, the Buffalo Bills. They will face them on a national stage as they headline

Week 9 on Monday Night Football.
