The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Vikings still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 7 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup about the team, and who they may add through the draft in a class many are calling one of generational wealth.
CBS Sports' Josh Edwards recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going with a pass-rusher in Colin Simmons. The SEC defender has been dominant this year for the Texas defense and would be a game-altering presence.
He explains the pick, writing, "Cleveland needs a quarterback beyond this season. At his best, Deshaun Watson has been average to good this year,
but there has been more bad than fans may be willing to admit. Is there a quarterback worth this selection? Maybe if C.J. Carr continues to progress or Arch Manning turns his season around. In this moment, they are better off taking a different position. Colin Simmons has taken his game to another level. He has 10.5 sacks on the season, more than half of which came against Tennessee."
With the Browns' other pick in the first round, they landed quarterback Dante Moore. Getting two players to help reshape both sides of the ball for what could be a massive 2027.
