The Minnesota Vikings produced a season-high 364 yards of offense in their Week 5 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Kyler Murray led the attack, playing efficiently and completing 24/30 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown. He also scrambled seven times for 54 yards, finishing with ten runs for 51 yards officially after three kneel-downs.
That gave Murray a stat line no other Vikings quarterback had ever achieved. Per Vikings Communications' X page, Murray became the first quarterback in team history to throw for 200+ yards, complete 80% of his passes, and run for at least 50 yards.
Murray built on a strong finish in Minnesota's Week 4 win over the Dolphins, completing 13 of his final 14 passes to help the Vikings secure the win. On Sunday,
Murray completed his first 12 passes against New Orleans, displaying increased comfort in Kevin O'Connell's offense.
Minnesota's offense still has a long way to go, ranking 27th in yards. But Murray has shown growth in each of the past three games, providing optimism that the Vikings' offense can get on track coming out of this week's bye.
