The Minnesota Vikings quarterback competition is heating up now that training camp is here, and no one is backing down on social media from defending who they think should win the job. Through it all, the coaching staff has remained steadfast in their execution of this quarterback competition, while some on the outside consider it already Kyler Murray's job to lose.
As we keep inching closer to an eventual answer, we have a new educated guess on the battle. ESPN's Benjamin Solak was recently at Vikings camp and now has an idea of who he believes is the favorite to win.
He writes, "My prediction: Murray will gain ground every day of camp. He'll iron out the easy mistakes of the first few days. His arm will shine. McCarthy needs to make bigger throws
and take bigger chances to hold off Murray. I entered Minnesota with a strong belief that Murray will win this quarterback competition, and I leave feeling the same."
So while the competition remains open, more and more folks are looking at Murray as the one to have things locked up. And, to be fair, he should have things locked up. He is a former number one overall pick, a Heisman Trophy winner, and is a dual-threat in the backfield. The Vikings need him at his best and it seems he may finally be inching towards that.
