The Oklahoma Sooners continue to make strides on the recruiting trail in the 2028 recruiting class. Just a few days after making the top five for the top prospect in the state of Oklahoma, Brent Venables and his staff earned some more promising news.
This time from one of the best EDGE rushers in the country. Keoni Snipes, a four-star 2028 EDGE from Saraland, Ala., released his top 10 schools on Tuesday. Snipes has 58 offers spanning multiple conferences and now says he’ll focus only on Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Auburn, Oregon, Florida, Texas, Alabama, Miami, LSU, and Georgia.
The 6-foot-5, 245-pound junior ranks No. 101 overall, No. 14 among EDGE prospects in the 2028 Rivals Industry Rankings, and No. 7 overall in Alabama. According to 247Sports,
he’s rated No. 71 overall, No. 14 at his position, and No. 2 in the state. ESPN has him No. 13 as an edge rusher and No. 4 among his state’s top prospects.

Snipes is a strong and patient rusher. Oftentimes winning the initial jump off the ball to force the offensive blocker into the backfield, before choosing the best time to break free and strike. According to 247Sports, he finished his 13-game sophomore season with 30 tackles, 7 TFL, and 3.5 sacks.
Not only are the Sooners in Snipes’ top 10 schools, but they’ve also locked in a visit with Snipes on October 31, the conference matchup against South Carolina. The same date that the top running back in the Class will be in town as well. Snipes last visited Oklahoma for the Spring game in April.

Of his top 10 schools, Snipes has visited Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Auburn, Florida, Alabama, LSU and Georgia. Oregon, Texas, and Miami are the three programs in his top group that he has yet to visit. He’ll take a trip to Texas on Oct. 24 before the return trip to Oklahoma on Oct. 31. No industry experts have predictions for where he will land just yet.
