The Oklahoma Sooners got some good news on the Thursday evening availability report released by the SEC. Four players who were questionable on Wednesday night were upgraded to probable this evening ahead of Saturday's matchup with No. 1 Texas.
Linebacker Cole Sullivan and safety Michael Boganowski, key members of the Sooners' two-deep on defense, are on track to play on Saturday in the Cotton Bowl, barring any setbacks. Both players were lost to injury during the Michigan game and missed Oklahoma's games against New Mexico and Georgia.
Also getting upgraded were backups wide receiver Jer'Michael Carter and Jack Van Dorselaer. Carter has played just 10 snaps this season but hasn't played since the Sooners' loss to the Wolverines. Van Dorselaer has played in all
four games but was limited to just four snaps against the Bulldogs in Athens.
There's been no movement on starting offensive tackle Michael Fasusi, which likely means the Sooners will be without their former five-star and freshman All-American again this week. Fasusi attempted to play in the season opener, but was noticeably limited after suffering a shoulder injury in fall camp. Fasusi's absence for another week means Ryan Fodje will draw his fourth start in a row at left tackle.
Oklahoma looks like they could be without starting left guard Eddy Pierre-Louis this week. Pierre-Louis was listed as questionable on the opening availability report on Wednesday and hasn't seen any movement towards playing. At this point, it looks like it's a game-time decision. If he's unable to go, expect either Heath Ozaeta or Peyton Joseph to get the opportunity to start at left guard, with freshman Noah Best starting at right guard.
