One of the biggest questions lingering after the Oklahoma Sooners fired offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle was what would happen with the 2027 and 2028 recruiting classes. Namely, at quarterback. It didn't take long for 2028 quarterback commit Trey Tagliaferri
to reaffirm his commitment to the Sooners. 2027 quarterback commit Jamison Roberts, with the early signing period coming in a little over a month, needed a little more time.Well, Roberts told Brandon Drumm of OUInsider that he's still committed to the Sooners.
Roberts said, "Of course I am. I just wanted to take a step back and view the situation. I'm still 100% locked in."
That's a big affirmation for the Sooners 2027 class. Roberts is a four-star quarterback prospect out of Alabama and
has been one of the biggest risers in the cycle. With offers from across the country, Roberts would have become a hot commodity on the recruiting trail.
Oklahoma maintaining his commitment despite the change in offensive coordinators allows the front office and coaching staff to focus their attention elsewhere as the 2027 recruiting cycle winds down.
