The Oklahoma Sooners are in a tough spot after the first month of the season. They're 2-2 (0-1 SEC) after their 41-13 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs
. Losing games on the road in Ann Arbor or Athens wouldn't typically be labeled as a disappointment, but it's more about the way Oklahoma has played that has the season on the brink. Especially with the number of ranked teams remaining on the schedule in the US LBM Coaches Poll.The Sooners still have five teams on the schedule ranked in this week's coaches poll, headlined by No. 1 Texas in the Red River Showdown in two weeks. Oklahoma will also play No. 8 Florida, who is coming off a win over Ole Miss. The Sooners will face on No. 12 Ole Miss, No. 16 Mississippi State, and No. 25 Missouri.
That's a tough
road ahead for any team, but especially for a team that has struggled offensively in 2026. Over the last three weeks, the Sooners are averaging just 12.3 points per game.
Oklahoma is heading into the bye week with a lot of questions on offense and maybe not enough time to figure out a plan as they get ready for Texas.
The Sooners are still receiving votes but are among the bottom six of those teams just outside of the coaches' poll.
