The Oklahoma Sooners have their sights squarely set on the Texas Longhorns this week, as the 2026 Red River Rivalry matchup is just a few days away. However, OU learned what time their next game back at home will be kicking off on Monday.
Oklahoma's game against the Kentucky Wildcats on October 17th in Norman will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT and will broadcast on SEC Network. The Sooners and the Wildcats have not played each other since OU joined the SEC, and that will be rectified in two weeks.
OU will don the throwback jerseys in that game, which will come under the lights. This will be the third season in a row for the Bud Wilkinson era-inspired threads, and the Sooners have worn them once in each of the last two seasons. Oklahoma beat Houston
in 2024 and Kent State in 2025 in the uniforms, so this will be the first time OU plays a conference game in the throwbacks.
The primetime game is also a nice touch, as the Sooners were not given a conference home night game by the SEC last season. The last time OU got a primetime kickoff for an SEC game in Norman was when they upset Alabama back in 2024 on Senior Night. So far, this season, each of Oklahoma's home games have kicked off under the lights.
