SEC Mascots ranked from Worst to First

Week 0 of the 2026 college football season has arrived, and from now until the end of January, we get to enjoy all of the pageantry and pomp that the greatest sport in the world has to offer. In addition to some of the best players and teams in college football, the SEC offers some of the best mascots in the game.

So we decided to rank the SEC's 16 mascots. We divided them into two categories. The schools that have a live mascot and the ones that don't.

So without further ado, here are our SEC mascot rankings for 2026.

6. Tony the Landshark - Ole Miss

Ole Miss has great colors, especially the powder blue look, but what even is a Landshark?

5. Wildcat/Scratch - Kentucky

Kentucky is a blue-blood

basketball program, so their Wildcat moves the needle, but there are so many Wildcats in college athletics that it gets lost in the shuffle.

4. Truman the Tiger - Missouri

It's unfortunate for Truman that he's one of three tiger mascots in the SEC. Also just a little too comic-booky.

3. Mr. C - Vanderbilt

Given that Commodores are high-ranking officials in the Navy and that he wears a uniform, "Mr. C" feels a little informal for everyone other than his superior officers.

2. Albert and Alberta - Florida

Florida's sweethearts Al and Alberta are a throwback to a time when the sweater with the initial of the college was all the rage. It's double-the fun in Gainesville for fans of all ages with the Gators duo.

1. Big Al - Alabama

Alabama has lived up to the hard-hitting nature that gave rise to the Big Al mascot throughout its program's history. A blue-blood that's largely been defined by defense and trench play, Big Al is one of the best mascots in the SEC.

10. Reveille - Texas A&M

Reveille is a regal, beautiful-looking dog. Solid live mascot. Feels more fitting for the English Premiere League or a throne room than an SEC mascot, though.

9. Bully - Mississippi State

Bully is fantastic, and that he's named after one of my favorite players, Dak Prescott, would have him higher on the mascot rankings if there wasn't another bulldog in the conference.

8. Tusk - Arkansas

I certainly wouldn't want to come across Tusk while hiking through Northwest Arkansas. Perhaps the potential of actually meeting him in the wild is why I'm so low on the Arkansas mascot. Tusk is no joke.

7. Sir Big Spur - South Carolina

You may think "it's just a rooster," but that's a fierce-looking rooster that South Carolina puts out there on game days. Sir Big Spur has the look of a rooster ready to line it up and go to war with his football compatriots.

6. Bevo - Texas

Texas hate aside, Bevo is pretty awesome. Even from the Sooner State, we can respect a good bovine.

6. War Eagle - Auburn

Auburn might be the Tigers, but when the War Eagle flies, football fans everywhere are in awe at the sight.

4. Smokey - Tennessee

With family from Tahlequah as well as the North Carolina side of the Great Smokey Mountains, Smokey evokes memories of "Where the Red Fern Grows," which was shot in Tahlequah, as well as some fond memories of traveling east through Tennessee into North Carolina.

3. Uga - Georgia

What's cuter than an English bulldog in a sweater? Not a whole lot.

2. Mike The Tiger - LSU

Live tiger, in a cage, at one of the wildest venues in college football. Mike is pretty perfect.

1. Boomer and Sooner

Two is better than one, and when the Oklahoma offense is rolling, so is the Sooner Schooner. Boomer and Sooner, the Schooner, and the Roughnecks create an incredible scene on gameday.
