The University of Oklahoma announced on Monday that Sooners guard Keeley Parks will miss the 2026-2027 season after suffering a "non-contact" knee injury in practice last week. The Sooners are set to open the season on Monday against the No. 12 North Carolina Tar Heels in Paris.
Out of Norman, Okla. Parks is a former two-time Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year. She signed with Kansas State out of high school and spent her freshman season with the Wildcats before transferring to Oklahoma during the offseason.
She averaged 16.1 minutes and 5.1 points per game for Kansas State and was expected to be a part of head coach Jennie Baranczyk's rotation this season.
"We're heartbroken for Keeley," Baranczyk said via OU Athletics. "She worked so hard this
offseason to get ready for the year, and it's devastating to see her season end before it begins. Our focus is on supporting her in every way possible throughout her recovery. Keeley is a competitor, and we know she'll approach this with the same determination and toughness she brings to the court every day. Our entire program is behind her, and we look forward to having her back on the floor."
The Sooners open the season at 1:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
