The Oklahoma Sooners offensive line has been the position group to watch on the injury report each week this season. And that remains the case as we head into Week 8. Oklahoma will be without another starter along the offensive line.
Ryan Fodje, who has started every game at left tackle since Week 2 was ruled out on the Wednesday night availability report. Fodje injured his right leg late in the third quarter of the Sooners' loss to Kentucky. He was noticeably limping, and the coaching staff attempted to let him play through it. But Fodje was significantly limited in the fourth quarter.
Also ruled out was guard Eddy Pierre-Louis.
With two offensive linemen out who have started games for the Sooners over the last two seasons, the availability of Michael
Fasusi and Heath Ozaeta will be under scrutiny as the team prepares for its trip to Starkville to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Also listed as questionable are starting wide receivers in the rotation, Elijah Thomas and Parker Livingstone, as well as running backs Tory Blaylock and Xavier Robinson.
For Mississippi State, all eyes are on starting quarterback Kamario Taylor. Taylor has been battling a foot injury and missed the Bulldogs' 31-0 loss to LSU last week. Taylor was playing like a Heisman contender prior to the Alabama game, where his mobility was limited. If he's not able to play for Mississippi State this week, they'll likely go back to freshman quarterback Billy Puckett.
In addition to Taylor, keep an eye on running back Fluff Bothwell. Bothwell had three games of 100 yards rushing in a row before playing just one snap against the Crimson Tide.
The Bulldogs have talent on their offense, but it wasn't the same without Taylor and Bothwell last week.
