The Oklahoma Sooners look to turn the page quickly after losing 21-13 at home against Kentucky on Saturday night. OU hits the road to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
The Sooners and the Bulldogs already knew that kickoff was scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT, but now both programs have learned their TV channel designation in Week 8. Oklahoma-Mississippi State will broadcast on the SEC Network.
OU and Mississippi State have never met, but this game will reunite head coaches Brent Venables and Jeff Lebby. The pair worked together in Norman in 2022 and 2023, when Lebby was Venables' offensive coordinator for the first two years of his OU tenure.
Both teams are coming off disappointing losses, as the Bulldogs were shut out on the road against LSU
on Saturday. The injury statuses of quarterback Kamario Taylor and running back Fluff Bothwell will be key storylines leading up to the matchup. For the Sooners, it's the continued search for an offensive identity, which is even harder now with a banged-up offensive line.
