The Oklahoma Sooners suffered a significant drop in the latest USA TODAY Sports 1-138 rankings after their 41-13 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Oklahoma fell 19 spots, suffering one of the biggest drops in college football after Week 4. The Sooners now rank No. 48 in the nation, according to Paul Myerburg.
The Sooners' offense has let them down in 2026. They rank No. 111 in the nation in points per game and, over the last three weeks, are averaging just 12.3 points per game. Since putting up 51 points against UTEP, Oklahoma hasn't had an answer on offense.
And it won't get much easier. The Sooners will face the No. 1 team in the nation after the bye, the Texas Longhorns. They were No. 1 in Myerburg's rankings but were jumped by Georgia this week.
After the Longhorns, the Sooners will face No. 52 Kentucky, followed by No. 16 Mississippi State, and then No. 80 South Carolina.
The month of November will be the hardest week-to-week stretch of the season. They go on the road to take on Myerburg's No. 6 team, the Florida Gators, No. 8 Ole Miss, No. 47 Texas A&M, and No. 29 Missouri to close out the season.
For the Sooners to earn a playoff berth, they'll have to go 8-0 over the next two months. With the offense they've put on the field, that seems pretty unlikely.
