The Oklahoma Sooners have several key players questionable for their Week 7 matchup with the Kentucky Wildcats on the initial availability report released by the SEC on Wednesday night. The biggest name to watch is offensive tackle Michael Fasusi, but he isn't the only one worth watching.
Fasusi has missed each of Oklahoma's last four games after playing in a limited role in the season opener against the UTEP Miners. Head coach Brent Venables said he was "just about ready" to make his return on Tuesday. Along with Fasusi, offensive linemen Eddy Pierre-Louis and Heath Ozaeta were also listed as questionable. Both players started games for the Sooners this season. Ozaeta played against Texas despite limping off the field during warm-ups. Pierre-Louis missed the Texas game and was on crutches
during the pre-game coin toss and on the sideline.
If Fasusi, Pierre-Louis, and Ozaeta all miss the Kentucky game, the Sooners will need a new right-guard starter, likely Peyton Joseph.
Cornerback Eli Bowen is a key name to watch for the Sooners' defense. He was injured in practice on Thursday and missed the win over Texas. If he doesn't play Saturday night, Trystan Haynes would get his second consecutive start after playing well against the Longhorns.
Wide receiver Parker Livingstone is the only other questionable name on the injury report. Livingstone started against Texas and played 29 snaps, but didn't register a target in the game. He hasn't really produced much since coming over from Texas in the transfer portal. Livingstone has six receptions for 51 yards this season.
For the Kentucky Wildcats, one of the most important names to watch ahead of Saturday's primetime affair is running back C.J. Baxter. Baxter joined Kentucky via the transfer portal from Texas. He's run for 484 yards and eight touchdowns at 5.6 yards per carry this season. It would be a big blow to the Wildcats, but they have capable runners behind him on the depth chart in Jason Patterson (361 yards, 7.7 yards per carry) and former Sooner Jovantae Barnes (140 yards, 6.1 yards per carry).
