Oklahoma softball earned its first commitment in the 2028 class, and it’s from an in-state talent.
Braylyn “BP” Saenz announced her commitment to the Sooners on Monday night. Saenz is a four-star prospect out of Moore, Oklahoma, where she plays middle infield. But she can play all four infield positions. Saenz, who bats left-handed and throws right-handed, brings athleticism, a big arm, and power from the left side.
“First and foremost, I want to thank my Lord and Savior because without him none of this is possible,” Saenze wrote in her commitment post. “I couldn’t see him working through my journey at times, but he was in every part working it all together for his plan. I kept my faith and I kept working and I’m just so grateful and thankful.”
She went on to thank her family and coaches.

Softball America rates Saenz as the No. 41 overall recruit, No. 13 at her position and No. 3 overall player in the state. Her commitment confirms OU head coach Patty Gasso's 'Go Boomer' post Monday evening.
Saenz announced her decision to commit to Oklahoma just a day after her visit this past weekend. She was one of four top-50 recruits who were in Norman. Saenz was joined by No. 1-ranked pitcher Sophia Schlader, No. 1 outfielder Caelyn Campos, and No. 22 overall player Gia Ryan. Before her visit over the weekend, where she watched the football team shut out UTEP 51-0, she took a camp visit on June 23.
