The Carolina Panthers have used a pair of familiar faces to make an adjustment on their practice squad.
As announced on Tuesday morning, the team has signed cornerback Robert Rochell to the group. The 28-year-old defender, before his latest departure a week ago, was elevated from the practice squad for the Week 4 win over the Detroit Lions—where he recorded 12 snaps on special teams.
Rochell was released last Tuesday, along with offensive lineman Isaia Glass and outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon. Carolina also waived running back Anthony "Tre" Tyus III, who has since returned to the practice squad as well, from their active roster the same day.
To make room for Rochell, the Panthers have parted ways with outside linebacker Cam Gill. The Sumter,
S.C. native has now tallied five different stints with the organization, three of which have come since late July.
