The Carolina Panthers got themselves another look at another cornerback this week.
Per the league transaction wire, the team brought in fourth-year corner Jakorian Bennett for a visit on Thursday. Bennett is fresh off clearing waivers after being let go by the Philadelphia Eagles two days ago.
A Mobile, Ala. native, Bennett split his five-year collegiate career between Hutchinson Community College (2018 to 2019) and the University of Maryland (2020 to 2022). He'd go on to be selected in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders.
Bennett has appeared in 35 games, with 12 starts, since—amassing 65 combined tackles and 12 passes defensed.
In addition to Bennett, the Panthers also hosted fellow cornerback Jack Jones for a visit
on Tuesday.
Carolina is currently dealing with injuries to Jaycee Horn (quad), Mike Jackson (groin), Akayleb Evans (triceps and knee) and Will Lee III (hamstring)—who was listed as a non-participant at practice for the past two sessions.
