The Carolina Panthers have filled the lone vacancy on their practice squad with a familiar face.
As announced on Thursday afternoon, the team has signed running back Anthony "Tre" Tyus III to the group. The 23-year-old was waived from the active roster as part of a handful of moves on Tuesday.
After splitting his collegiate career between Northwestern University (2021 to 2023) and Ohio University (2024), Tyus broke into the NFL as an undrafted free agent in the spring of 2025. He'd pick up short stints with the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks before signing to Carolina's practice squad in October of that year.
Tyus has appeared in two games this season—the Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns and Sunday night's Week 4 win over the Lions. He's
served on kick return duties, totaling 127 yards on five attempts.
