Even the slightest of positive developments on the injury front feel like the greatest of news for the Carolina Panthers these days.
We learned about one on Monday, as head coach Dave Canales took some time out to chat with reporters. Canales offered up a pretty encouraging outlook on cornerback Will Lee III, who went down in Thursday night's loss to the Green Bay Packers with a hamstring injury.
"Day-to-day," Canales said of Lee's status. "We're in a day-to-day spot with him, truly. He's getting rehab, he's trending in the right direction, we'll have some opportunities this week to kinda test him out to see where he's at."
The rookie defender made an early exit from the outing after chasing down Packers wideout Christian Watson on a 53-yard reception
in the second quarter. Carolina had entered the contest with Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson and Akayleb Evans already on injured reserve—leaving them with Lee, Chau Smith-Wade, Malcolm DeWalt IV and practice squad call-up Marco Wilson as their only heathly corners.
Wilson got the starting nod alongside Lee in Week 8. Per Canales, Wilson is likely to start again this Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
