As expected, Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales will wait until Wednesday to provide some concrete details about the status of running back Jonathon Brooks. But he did, at least, give us a minor update regarding this latest setback.
Canales, after Sunday's 34-3 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, told reporters Brooks had re-aggravated the groin injury he sustained this past summer. The tweak sidelined the third-year rusher at the end of training camp, but did not ultimately keep him out of the first two games of the regular season.
Today, Canales was asked if Brooks underwent x-rays on his groin.
"Yeah, he's getting a bunch of imaging," he replied. "I'll hold off any injury information until Wednesday."
He was then asked if there's any concern
about the injury.
"Wednesday," Canales stated simply.
Brooks, who was limited to just three games over his first two NFL campaign due to a pair of ACL tears, appeared in his fifth regular-season this weekend. He recorded 16 rushing yards on five carries and lost five yards on his lone reception in the win.
