The Carolina Panthers may be dealing with another concerning injury to another key starter.
According to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo, starting left guard Damien Lewis will be sidelined "a few weeks" with a UCL injury. ESPN senior NFL reporter adds that the injury is being classified as a "tear in his elbow," and that Lewis is seeking a second opinion on the issue.
Lewis sustained the injury in Carolina's Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns. The defeat also yielded injuries to quarterback Bryce Young (foot), wide receiver Jalen Coker (quad) and cornerbacks Mike Jackson (groin) and Jaycee Horn (quad)—who could be out for six to 12 weeks.
Carolina will host the Detroit Lions in Week 4, followed by a bye in Week 5. Given the early break, Lewis
could only miss one game, this Sunday night, as he recovers.
