A longtime Carolina Panther may be in line to provide a big-time boost to the offense next weekend.
According to Panthers Statement over on Twitter/X, the Panthers are expected to get offensive tackle Taylor Moton back for their Week 6 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. The 10th-year lineman has been sidelined since the summer while recovering from a blood clot in his lung.
Moton began the regular season on the reserve/non-football illness list. Head coach Dave Canales provided an encouraging update on Moton this past Monday, following the team's Week 4 win over the Detroit Lions.
"We need medical clearance. So we're gonna be really at the mercy of the evaluations that happen in this next week to see if we can get those guys back," Canales
stated of Moton and defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton, who underwent offseason neck surgery.
"We've pushed them as hard as we can within the confines of their mode to know that they're physically ready to do it. But then's there structural stuff, there's the medical stuff with T-Mo that we're at the mercy of."
2026 first-round pick Monroe Freeling has started all four games at right tackle in place of Moton. Freeling's status for the upcoming contest versus Philadelphia is in a bit of question thanks to a knee injury.
