The NFL's No. 1 passing offense may have one of their top receivers back in uniform for their next game.
According to ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler, the Panthers are "hopeful" to get wideout Jalen Coker to return to the field following their bye week. The third-year pass catcher missed this past Sunday night's win over the Detroit Lions due to a quad injury.
Coker, who had also been dealing with an ankle issue, sustained the setback in the team's Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns. He was officially ruled out in the third quarter of the contest after recording two grabs for 18 yards.
Prior to Carolina's victory against Detroit, Coker entered Week 4 as the team's leading receiver—having totaled 18 receptions for 222 yards and two touchdowns
through three games.
Following their break here in Week 5, the Panthers will travel to take on the Philadelphia Eagles for their Week 6 outing.
