Two Carolina Panthers starters are seemingly inching closer to their returns.
Head coach Dave Canales chatted with reporters on Monday, fresh off his team's bye week. He was asked about the outlook on right tackle Taylor Moton and defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton, and provided a pretty exciting update.
"We'll open up Turk and T-Mo's window this week, for sure," Canales stated. "How we do that, how they respond to the work—we'll give all that information later."
Both Moton and Wharton have been sidelined since the offseason. The former was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list due to a blood clot while the latter has sat on the reserve/physically unable to perform list through his recovery from neck surgery.

Freeling has started in Moton's stead on the right side of the offensive trench. Similarly, Wharton's absence has also given way to a few rookies—second-rounder Lee Hunter and undrafted signee Aaron Hall.
Once the practice windows on Moton and Wharton are opened, they'll have 21 days to return to the active roster.
Canales added that the Panthers will activate running back Trevor Etienne from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
